How to Fix "WiFi Doesn't Have a Valid IP Configuration" Issue on Windows 10

Having no access to the Internet is very influential in the continuity of the office work, and your Microsoft Edge may be not working as well as the Chrome browser. If you are bothered with the valid IP configuration or the no WiFi issue and have no idea, continue the reading for appropriate solutions to fix it.

Here we have top 7 ways for you to resolve such IP configuration problem:

1. Check the Operating Environment Related to Wireless Network

Step 1. Check hardware like the wireless router, the modem work, the WiFi button on your Windows 10 laptop, etc. in case you waste time on other useless computer operations. Restart the devices to see if the valid IP configuration issue still persists. Also, switch the airplane mode button to turn off the feature (if available).

Step 2. Check the network environment. Dual-band wireless routers contain both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. The 2.4GHz goes through walls better while the 5GHz is limited to indoor use only. Make sure your computer is in an appropriate WiFi environment. You can also contact with your network operator for the current network condition.

2. Disable and Re-enable the Wireless Network

Step 1. Type network into the search box in the task bar (or use Windows shortcut keysWin + S to use the search box), and then select View network connections.

Step 2. Right click on your faulty wireless network adapter and select Disable.

Step 3. After a while, right click on the icon again and select Enable.

3. Add IP Address Manually

The valid IP configuration issue means the DHCP fails to get a valid IP address from the Network Interface Card. But you can add a valid IP address by yourself to stop the no WiFi issue from annoying you. To do that, follow the steps below:

Step 1. Right click on the Start menu.

Step 2. Select the Network Connections.

Step 3. Highlight the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).

Step 4. Click on the button Properties.

Step 5. Choose Use the following IP address.

Step 6. Type into valid IP address. (Note: If the router's LAN IP address is 192.168.1.1, you can set IP address 192.168.1.* (* is from 2 to 253), Subnet mask 255.255.255.0, and Default gateway 192.168.1.1.)

Step 7. Choose Use the following DNS server address.

Step 8. Type into the Google's public DNS (Preferred DNS server 8.8.8.8 and Alternate DNS server 8.8.4.4).
