7 Ways to Fix Audio/Sound Problems Windows 11

You are listening to music and watching videos on your computer, but suddenly there is no sound the next second?

The newly installed computer can't hear the sound? After reinstalling the system, everything is normal but the sound is broken? What should we do if there is no audio output in Windows 11?

Solution1. Check Equipment

General desktop computers do not have their own speakers, we need to plug in speakers or headphones to have sound. Plug the device into the port on the back of the host, or replace it with a new earphone. If there is sound, the original device is broken.

Solution2. Check the Speaker Output

You can check the speaker output and choose the appropriate audio output from multiple audio output devices.

1. Click the speaker output icon on the taskbar

2. Open the list of audio devices that your computer connected

3. Check the playing audio device, like speaker/headphones

Solution3. Update Driver

If it is not a problem with the device, the problem of no sound on the computer often occurs on the driver. How to check sound card device:

1. Type WIN+X together

2. Select Device Manager and choose Sound controller

3. Check for a yellow question or an exclamation mark icon, if there is a problem with the driver.

Many computer problems could be caused by outdated or malfunctioning drivers.

1. Type WIN+X together and select Device Manager

Solution4. Roll Back Driver

If updating drivers can not help, you can reinstall driver or rollback driver to the former version. First you can uninstall driver and system will install a new one automatically.

In the same path, you can uninstall your drivers by yourself:

1. Type WIN+X together and select Device Manager

2. On the main page of Device Manager

3. Find out Sound video and game controllers

4. Uninstall device,select the Delete the driver software for this device check box, and then select Uninstall

5. Reboot your computer

Solution5. Turn Off Enhancements

1. Type WIN+S together, open the search box.

2. Search for control panel, then select it from the results.

3. Select Hardware and Sound from the Control Panel, and then select Sound.

4. On the Playback tab, right-click the Default Device, and then select Properties.

5. On the Advanced tab and uncheck either the Enable audio enhancements or the Enable sound effects check box, select Apply, and try to play your audio device.

6. If that doesn't work, on the Playback tab, right-click another default device (if you have one), and select Properties. Uncheck either the Enable audio enhancements or the Enable sound effects check box (depending on which option you see), select Apply, and try to play audio again. Do this for each default device.

1. In the search box on the taskbar, type services, then select it from the results.

2. Select each of the following services, select and hold (or right-click), select Restart, and then select Yes:

Windows Audio Endpoint Builder

Remote Procedure Call (RPC)

Solution7. Installed Updates

Think carefully, have you installed updates pending and need to reboot?

If you have, that may be the reason causing computer error.

1. Save your work and close all open applications.

2. Open shutdown page.

3. Select one of those restart options to apply the updates.
