Dec. 30, 2021 / Updated by Vivi to News

Previously, organizers of the Microsoft Teams meetings had to manually accept or deny people who tried to enter a meeting. This is obviously a bit time-consuming and annoying for meeting organizers, especially when a meeting usually has hundreds of participants during the pandemic period of COVID-19. To help meeting organizers reduce the pressure, Microsoft has now made it possible for organizers to easily and efficiently lock or unlock the meetings held in the Microsoft Teams.

Steps to Lock a Meeting:

1. Start a meeting within Microsoft Teams

2. Click on “Show participants

3. Click on the “” menu

4. Choose “Lock the meeting

5. Choose “Lock

Steps to Unlock a Meeting:

1. Start a meeting within Microsoft Teams

This new feature can not only help meeting organizers save the time spent in managing and controlling participants, but also make the participants aware of the importance of punctuality. Participants who are late for the conference and try to enter after the organizer has locked the meeting will receive a notification telling that the meeting is locked.

To sum up, the new feature to allow organizers to lock and unlock the meetings within Microsoft Teams is useful for managing and controlling the entry of participants, and at the same time, it can help participants realize the importance of being punctual.
