Los Angeles, Calif. - Feb. 13th, 2019 - On February 12, 2019, the February Patch Tuesday of Microsoft, several cumulative updates were released to provide support for its various versions of Windows OS. For users of Windows 10 version 1803 (also known as Windows 10 April 2018 Update), cumulative update KB4487017 is available to address the IP address issue. Improvements and Fixes in KB4487017 (OS Build 17134.590)

Cumulative update KB4487017 brings the OS Build 17134.590. As the standard Patch Tuesday cycle, KB4487017 comes without new operating system features but with some quality improvements and fixes, including:

  • Addressing an issue that fails to set the LmCompatibilityLevel value correctly. LmCompatibilityLevel specifies the authentication mode and session security.

  • Addressing an issue that may prevent applications that use a Microsoft Jet database with the Microsoft Access 97 file format from opening. This issue occurs if the database has column names greater than 32 characters. The database fails to open with the error, “Unrecognized Database Format”.

  • Adding top-level domain support to HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) Preload for Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer 11.

  • Addressing an issue that prevents Microsoft Edge from loading webpages using a local IP address or a VPN connection.

  • Security updates to Microsoft Scripting Engine, Internet Explorer, Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Windows Graphics, Windows Input and Composition, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Windows Server, and the Microsoft JET Database Engine.

After installing this update, some users cannot pin a web link on the Start menu or the taskbar.

Microsoft is working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.

After installing this update, the first character of the Japanese era name is not recognized as an abbreviation and may cause date parsing issues.

Modify the registry with the two-character abbreviation for Japanese eras as follows:

"1912 07 30"="大正_大_Taisho_T"

"1926 12 25"="昭和_昭_Showa_S"

"1989 01 08"="平成_平_Heisei_H"
