On October 15, 2021, Microsoft released a new Windows 11 test version 22000.282, but it is only available to Insider testers in the Beta and Release Preview channels. It comes with numerous important fixes.
One of the fixes is for the AMD CPU issues. Shortly after the official release of Windows 11, many people were troubled by a performance drop with AMD Ryzen CPUs. According to AMD, “L3 cache latency may increase for some applications” and “UEFI CPPC2 (“preferred core”) may not preferentially schedule threads on a processor's fastest core.” The increased L3 cache latency could decrease the performance by up to 15% in games commonly used for eSports, and this problem is now solved by Microsoft with the build 22000.282. This fix will be available to mainstream users running Windows 11 before the end of October. As for the “UEFI CPPC2 ( “preferred core” )” bug, solution will also be provided later this month.
It is known that in Windows 11, the new taskbar should be centered. But many Windows 11 users could only see the old Windows 10 taskbar instead of the new Windows 11 taskbar. The Microsoft release notes for the build 22000.282 also announce that this build can fix the taskbar bug.
More fixes that can improve the use experience of Windows 11 will be rolled out by the end of this month.
